Chickenpox

I can't believe I am typing this, but William has gotten the chickenpox. I don't know where, but I noticed some strange bumps on Friday. I called his doctor and was informed that she didn't have any appointments so I would have to take him to After Hours. We went to see the doctor at the clinic and he told us to watch the bumps and if they started going through stages and he started getting more then they were chickenpox. I took him expecting to be told he had impentigo or hand foot and mouth, not chickenpox. =( Our poor baby. He doesn't seem to be bothered by them too much. He hasn't scratched at them (Thank God!). They started on his butt and his head and are quickly spreading over his trunk and back. As of last count, I found 35 spots. He can't return to daycare until they are all scabbed over so he will be spending lots of time at my mother's house. Another reason to Thank God. She is on voluntary layoff otherwise I would have to stay home with him. I don't have enough vacation time to do so. What a blessing to have her off and able to watch him. Thanks in advance, Mom!
